Portrays the story of a girl who runs away from home and joins the circus. However, the beauty and the lights of the circus aren't what they seem to be and a much darker side emerges. As she falls from grace, she questions the concept of sin, which plagues the other circus performers.
Our past never leaves us as it merges with our soul, forming our experiences. As these shadows haunt us, they change our perception of the truth, creating illusions.
Humans are their own oppressors with their rules, codes of conduct, and judgments on those who do not behave accordingly. However, upon reflection, one can see that the sinners they deem ‘monsters’ are not those who are being judged, but the judges themselves.
The problem with limelight is that over time it can turn sour. Fame is only everlasting for a select few, and the rest have to relinquish their power to the newer, younger version of themselves. All things in life are cyclical, just like the circus.
